Weekly Bingo Cartleisland, KerryCastleisland Community Centre was officially opened in August 1976 by Bishop Eamon Casey. It was built on a site donated by the W.H. O’ Connor family. Funds were obtained from a combination of fundraising and a small loan from St. Brendan’s trust which was paid off in a short time by organising a very successful ‘Tops of the Town’ competition.

In 2001 a development committee was formed which recognised the need to redevelop the existing building into a state of the art modern facility. Tremendous effort and outstanding local support characterised the raising of €200,000. We also received funding from the Department of Sport under the Sports Capital Programme and also from LEADER.  All this together with the help of FAS has provided the people of Castleisland with a state of the art modern facility.

In 2010 the redeveloped centre was officially opened by Minister John O’ Donoghue. Today the centre is managed and run by a committee, full time manager, community employment workers and volunteers.
